  • Arthurs Ditch Replacement & Shields St. Bridge over Canal No. 2

The first phase of the project will be done at the intersection of Laporte and Whitcomb and will replace an existing box culvert with a low profile box to provide a full depth paving thickness. Work at Arthurs Ditch is being performed within the floodplain, so elevation tolerances are extremely critical. Phase II of the project will replace an existing bridge on Shields Street. Along with the bridge construction, enhancements to the area include pedestrian rail, decorative columns, and sidewalks. The two bridges to be replaced are two of Fort Collins’ poorest structures.
