Stabilize and build a two-lane detour around the breech in Highway 34 due to flooding. Location: Greeley, CO |
Remove and replace broken and deteriorated concrete pavement slabs. Location: Wiggins, CO |
Construction of a new two span bridge over the Saint Vrain River. Work also includes reconstruction of two miles of roadway including intersection improvements of CR 17 and CR 19. Location: Platteville, CO |
The first phase of the project will be done at the intersection of Laporte and Whitcomb and will replace an existing box culvert with a low profile box to provide a full depth paving thickness. Work at Arthurs Ditch is being performed within the floodplain, so elevation tolerances are extremely critical. Phase II of the project will replace an existing bridge on Shields Street. Along with the bridge construction, enhancements to the area include pedestrian rail, decorative columns, and sidewalks. The two bridges to be replaced are two of Fort Collins’ poorest structures. Location: Fort Collins, CO |
Replacement of existing bridge over the Little Thompson River with minor road widening. Location: Berthoud, CO |
The existing 80” culvert failed and was replaced with a 20’ x 10’ concrete box culvert. A boulder drop structure was placed both upstream and downstream of the new CBC to facilitate the 8’ of grade drop. This project is a State of Colorado 2012 APWA award recipient for Design/Construction/Maintenance. Location: Longmont, CO |
Replacement of the existing bridge at Havana Street over Cherry Creek. Construction will be in three phases starting with the eastern most portion of the bridge. In addition 8’ wide sidewalks north and southbound will be constructed on the new bridge for pedestrian and bicycle safety. Location: Denver, CO |
Construction of approximately 1.5 miles of new four lane divided highway. The existing bike path was relocated to facilitate the new road alignment. A new pedestrian bridge was constructed across the Blue River. An 8’ high decorative sound wall was precast by Zak personnel and constructed next to the new highway to alleviate the traffic noise in the adjoining subdivision. Location: Breckenridge, CO |
Construction of a new six cell concrete box culvert to replace the existing wooden bridge. A portable concrete batch plant was set up onsite and used to supply concrete for the cast- in- place structure. Zak Dirt was awarded the 2009 Region 4 Project Management Award for this project. Location: Fort Morgan, CO |
